Cnc Setup Machinist
Job Title: CNC Setup MachinistJob Description

As a CNC Setup Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Mills and Lathes, specifically Haas machines. You will handle multiple setups per day, working primarily on short runs, often producing one-off parts or up to ten pieces.

ResponsibilitiesPerform 1–5 full machine setups per day on CNC Haas mills and lathes.Run short production runs, generally 1–10 parts, and verify CNC programs (no programming required).Select and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding for each job.Adjust offsets, feeds, and speeds to ensure optimal machining performance.Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues during runs.Read blueprints and engineering drawings.Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using standard metrology tools like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators.Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.Document inspection results and identify any nonconformances.Essential SkillsProficiency in setting up Haas CNC lathes and CNC Mills, performing up to 5 setups daily.Ability to select appropriate cutting tools, install tools, install soft jaws and bore them true, load collets, set chuck pressure, and load programs.Experience in operating CNC Mills and Lathes for short runs up to 10 parts.Proficient in blueprint reading and quality inspection.Additional Skills & QualificationsHaas CNC Machine Setup ExperienceExperience with CNC Programming - Fusion360Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a smaller shop with a team of up to 10 employees. The facility is newly updated, clean, and well-lit. You'll have access to machines including the Haas VF3 SS CNC Mill, Hwacheon CNC Lathe, Colchester Triumph Manual Lathe, and Bridgeport Manual Mill.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Macomb, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
