Job Description

Our machining department is looking for a CNC Programmer.
The selected candidate will join the production department and will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing machining programs for 4- and 5-axis horizontal machining centers. Starting from mechanical technical drawings, the resource will ensure the efficiency and quality of production processes, collaborating closely with technical and workshop teams.

Main Responsibilities

Develop CNC machining programs based on 2D drawings or 3D solid models provided by the engineering department.Understand the characteristics and specific features of the machining centers in the department, using them for testing and program optimization.Correctly use CNC commands and supervision systems.Perform re-phasing, restarts, and system status checks in case of interruptions or process modifications.Program using ISO language and, preferably, CAM software and Virtual Machine systems.Accurately read and interpret mechanical technical drawings.Define and calculate machining parameters (cutting speeds, feed rates, depths, etc.).Understand tools, materials, and cutting characteristics to identify and select the appropriate tool for each operation.Recognize different types of tools and their machining specifications.Identify and solve tool-related issues, and propose or design new solutions to improve performance, stability, and process quality.Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve operational issues.Ensure compliance with company safety and quality procedures.Organize work activities independently and accurately, respecting priorities and deadlines.Conduct preliminary studies of machining cycles and optimize machining times.

QualificationsProven experience in machining operations on horizontal, vertical, and/or 5-axis CNC machining centers.Excellent knowledge of ISO programming language.Experience with CAM software and Virtual Machine systems is preferred.Experience in dimensional inspection and the use of measuring instruments.Strong knowledge of technical drawings and geometric tolerances (familiarity with Creo/Pro-E systems is a plus).Good knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, etc.).Knowledge of English is an advantage.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.Good organizational and self-management abilities.
