CNC Operator
Job Title: CNC Operator
Job Description

As a CNC Operator, you will initially spend approximately three weeks in the deburr area. Once you demonstrate proficiency in deburring and blending metals, you will be assigned to a machine that aligns with your previous experience. You may also work in the assembly area, performing tasks such as riveting, notching, and fastener installation. This role offers the opportunity to learn new machines over time and assist in different areas of the machine shop as needed.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC 3-axis mills.Utilize Mori Seiki and Fadal machines.Work with materials including aluminum, copper, brass, carbon steel, and chromalloy.Grind, finish, and deburr parts.Perform basic quality inspections and read blueprints using vernier calipers, digital micrometers, and gauges.Operate a rubber molding machine, including lifting molds, inserting metal frames and rubber filling, and engaging the mold to press down and melt the rubber.Mill and drill parts to specification.Measure and examine completed products for defects.Use various measurement tools such as micrometers, drop gauges, depth mics, etc.Evaluate finish for cutter wear or damage.Read and interpret blueprints accurately.Essential Skills6+ months of CNC operating experience OR 3+ years of machine operator experience.Ability to set up and operate machines independently.Capability to hit metrics in a production environment.Proficiency in reading blueprints.Experience with CNC, mill, blueprint reading, metal deburring, digital micrometer, and CNC setup.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Haas mill, Mori Seiki, and 3-axis operations.Knowledge of G&M codes.Ability to load parts into CNC mill machine, push appropriate buttons, grind and deburr parts, and inspect for correct dimensions.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This is a large, open manufacturing setting that focuses on composite seals for aerospace applications. The facility includes machine shop, molding, bonding, and warehouse areas. It is a very safe and clean work environment with shifts consisting of 67 people on 1st, 40 on 2nd, and 5 on 3rd.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
