**Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Machinist and Programmer**
**Job Description**
Join our team as a CNC Machinist and Programmer where you'll play a critical role in planning and executing machining tasks. This position involves interpreting work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans to meet production specifications and quality standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Plan machining tasks by studying work orders, blueprints, and engineering plans.
+ Program mills and lathes with precise instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
+ Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting various components such as chucks, tools, and gears.
+ Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces.
+ Maintain equipment and ensure safe operations by adhering to safety procedures.
+ Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
+ Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
+ Assist junior machinists by providing guidance and answering questions.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5-10 years of experience in CNC programming and setup.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering plans.
+ Strong understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
+ Experience with machine operation, including lathes and mills.
+ Ability to perform basic math, geometry, and trigonometry calculations.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or GED is required.
+ Skills in process improvement, functional and technical operations.
+ Strong verbal communication and coordination abilities.
+ Attention to detail and good judgment.

**Work Environment**
Work the second shift from 2pm-10:30pm, with opportunities for overtime. Our facility is equipped with advanced CNC machinery, including 5-Axis CNC Turning Centers and CNC Horizontal and Vertical Mills. We maintain a safe and collaborative work environment, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schaumburg, IL.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $34.00/hr.
