Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist and Programmer to set up and operate equipment to manufacture the highest quality parts while maintaining production standards and safety precautions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in programming from scratch in an office setting, as well as running and setting up machines on the production floor.
ResponsibilitiesSet up machinery according to the production schedule.Inspect parts for proper documentation.Run parts for production and ensure proper safety equipment is in use.Place finished parts into designated containers and ensure all materials are clearly identified.Ensure accuracy of completed work and computer entries.Immediately report any machine malfunctions, production, quality, or safety issues.Perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting actions with materials weighing from 10 to 100 pounds.Regularly inspect in-process and finished parts to meet quality goals and zero defect criteria.Perform all production duties according to established procedures.Provide continual process improvement suggestions to enhance quality and efficiency.Maintain a clean work environment and assist in material handling duties when necessary.Assist in leading a small team, ordering parts, and scheduling runs.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.At least one year of experience performing CNC bending functions in metal fabrication.Proficiency in Mastercam programming from scratch.Experience with CNC Mill Machinist responsibilities, including setup, tool changes, and running the machine.Ability to read blueprints and hold tight tolerances.Experience with vertical milling machines (2D & 3D capabilities).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Jig, Fixture, and hard tool builds.Basic working knowledge of GD&T.Familiarity with CAD/CAM Software or Fusion 360 Powermill.Experience in a shop or low volume high mix fabrication environment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Our expansive manufacturing facility, located in Ferndale, Michigan, offers over 70,000 square feet of space with convenient access to major highways. We take pride in our contributions to the military and welcome customers to visit our facility and meet our dedicated team. The work involves both office programming and hands-on machine operation on the production floor. The position is a first shift opportunity with a 6 am start time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
