The CNC Machinist is supporting the production of high‑precision, small components used in specialized tooling applications. You are operating in a low‑volume, high‑mix environment where craftsmanship, adaptability, and problem‑solving are essential. You are contributing to the creation of custom, one‑off parts by applying advanced machining strategies, ensuring exceptional accuracy, and collaborating closely with engineering and quality teams to deliver best‑in‑class tooling solutions.
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for:
Setting up, programming, and operating CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment to manufacture highly detailed components
Interpreting complex engineering drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing instructions to meet extremely tight tolerances
Machining one‑of‑a‑kind parts and custom tooling using advanced machining strategies for unique, non‑repetitive jobs
Performing in‑process inspections using precision instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment
Optimizing machining processes by selecting appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies
Collaborating with engineering, tooling, and quality teams to resolve manufacturability challenges
Maintaining equipment cleanliness, calibration, and performing basic preventive maintenance
Documenting setups, adjustments, and work performed to support repeatability for future tooling needs
Adhering to all safety, quality, and compliance standards
To be successful in this role you will:
Have 5+ years of CNC machining experience, including 3+ years working with tight‑tolerance parts (±0.0005" or tighter preferred)
Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and work instructions
Have experience machining small or intricate parts in a precision manufacturing environment
Have comfort working with one‑off parts, prototypes, or custom tooling with limited process history
Have proficiency in CNC programming (G‑code); CAD/CAM experience (SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360) is a plus
Have strong knowledge of tooling selection, work holding, and machining best practices
Have the ability to detailed inspection and quality verification
Have a high school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred
