Cnc Machinist
**Job Title: Machinist** **Job Description** Operate computer and manually controlled machines to fabricate materials, load and cycle parts, run production lots, detect malfunctions in machine operations, and communicate with co-workers regarding production runs. This position operates on Day Shift (6am - 2:30pm) or Swing Shift (2:15pm - 10:45pm). **Responsibilities** + Operate and monitor lathes such as Haas TL-2 and manual lathes. + Operate, monitor, and complete production jobs on CNC Mills, ensuring quality parts by checking to print and making offset changes. + Set up and operate CNC machines, including loading programs and adjusting work/tool offsets. + Input G & M code using Haas controls and calculate feeds and speeds. + Select tools and set up parts with standard or custom specifications. + Study blueprints, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances. + Complete set-ups on multiple CNC Vertical Mills. + Communicate with co-workers to maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment. + Troubleshoot and operate across multiple machines, detecting malfunctions in machine operations. + Inspect parts for conformance using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges. + Ensure compliance with established safety protocols and maintain a clean work area. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years in a metal manufacturing environment with precision lathe and mill setup and operation experience. + Experience with manual inspection equipment and FAI processes. + Ability to read drawings and make offset changes independently. + Extensive machine shop/metalworking skills and understanding of fundamentals. + Knowledge of Haas controls and ability to set up CNC machines, loading programs, tools, fixtures, and setting tool offsets. + Mastercam/G&M code experience is a strong plus. + Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and machine codes. + Proficient in using measuring tools, with excellent blueprint reading skills. + Strong math skills, including trigonometry and ability to work with decimals. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Manual machining skills preferred but not required. + Trade school training and experience in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus. + Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. + Strong attention to detail, dependability, honesty, integrity, and a positive, proactive attitude. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. + Willingness to work overtime as required. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a low-stress workplace with a great work-life balance, steady business, and opportunities for career growth.
