Cnc Machinist
**Job Title: CNC Machinist** **Job Description** As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to machine large structural parts for various industrial sectors such as sawmills and paper mills. You will perform multiple setups daily in a dynamic job shop environment, operate several machines simultaneously, and engage in tooling and program proofing tasks. Your role will also involve making minor program edits and operating overhead cranes for part positioning and loading. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to machine large structural parts. + Perform multiple daily setups in a job shop environment. + Operate multiple machines simultaneously, especially during long cut times. + Assist in building tooling, touching off tooling, and proofing programs. + Make minor program edits, including changing feeds and speeds. + Operate overhead cranes for positioning and loading parts for machining. + Operate manual mills and lathes when necessary. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in CNC mill and lathe operations. + Experience with CNC setup and blueprint reading. + Precision measuring skills. + A minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC mill or lathe setup and operation. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Possession of a personal set of basic machine shop tools. + Ability to work independently and within a team. **Why Work Here?** We offer a growing environment with exciting opportunities for advancement. Despite the spacious environment, we maintain a bustling workload with a significant backlog. Safety is our priority, with PPE including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and earplugs required. The regular shift is from 6am to 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Portland, OR. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $83200.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
