Job Title: Machinist
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Machinist to install tooling on numerically controlled equipment to machine parts with precision. You will follow program instructions and diagrams for setting fixtures, outlining tooling, and sequencing operations for setup. Your role involves selecting and loading appropriate part programs, maintaining accurate ERP system transactions, making necessary adjustments to equipment and programs, and ensuring the proper functioning of machines to finish parts.
Work Environment
Our facility is an 80,000 sqft shop with a very clean environment, featuring half machine shop and half assembly. It includes three paint booths, an enclosed welding shop, and a bright lunch and training room. We are environmentally conscious and work in a respectful and collaborative team of 12-30 machinists. The role involves working with a partner and reporting to a supervisor and a lead. The afternoon shift is preferred, with hours from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am, Monday to Thursday, including paid lunch and coffee breaks.
Responsibilities
Install tooling on numerically controlled equipment to machine parts.Follow program instructions and diagrams for setting fixtures.Select and load appropriate part programs for machine runs.Maintain accurate and timely transactions in the ERP system.Make necessary adjustments to equipment and programs.Load and unload parts to and from machines, monitoring operations to ensure proper functioning.Check parts periodically during operations to verify conformance to specifications.Assist in maintaining and servicing equipment as directed.Read and interpret blueprints accurately.Train other employees and assist in other departments as required.Initiate action to prevent problems and contribute to problem solutions.Essential Skills
1-3 years of related experience as a CNC Machinist.Ability to work on repetitive tasks.Proficiency in following blueprints and tooling sheets.Capability to make minor adjustments on programs.Experience with CNC setup, inspection, and machining.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ideally completed schooling in machining.Experience in Milling or Turning.Open to occasional overtime.Forklift experience (training available if not).Gear cutting experience.Why Work Here?
