Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes, mills, and routers in a precise and compliant manner to meet company and customer requirements. The role also involves programming parts, assisting team members, and providing training to new machine operators and machinists.

ResponsibilitiesRead blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products.Program parts and provide skill development, guidance, and training to other machine operators.Set up and operate CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.Conduct trial runs on CNC machines to verify accuracy of settings or programmed control data.Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machines, adjusting controls as required.Confer with production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.Verify conformance of finished product to specifications using precision measuring instruments.Fit and assemble parts into complete assemblies using jigs, fixtures, surface plates, surface tables, hand tools, and power tools.Observe all first article, in-process, and final inspection requirements.Perform other duties as required.Essential Skills3 years of relevant CNC machining experience preferredKnowledge of CNC machining techniques and methodsUnderstanding of tool geometry, applications, speeds, and feedsProficiency in programming CNC machines at the controllerAbility to read and interpret drawings and blueprints, including GD&TSkilled in using precision measuring toolsAbility to set up machines based on setup sheetsAbility to indicate toolingStrong ability to work independentlyAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience using precision measuring devicesSolid math skillsManual lathe experienceTroubleshooting skillsExperience with Haas mills and toolingWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

Work a standard 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday in a clean and climate-controlled facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $30.00/hr.
