Job Description:

Location: Westbrook, Maine

CoWorx is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in Westbrook, ME.

The CNC Machinist will be responsible for precision machining operations, including programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality parts.

This role requires troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing adjustments or repairs as needed, as well as inspecting finished products to ensure compliance with blueprint specifications.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Responsibilities:

Review work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications to plan machining.
Select and set up fixtures, attachments, and tools according to job requirements.
Program, set up, and operate mills and lathes while monitoring operations.
Verify incoming work orders for correct material.
Ensure parts meet specifications by monitoring machine operations, measuring results, troubleshooting, and making necessary adjustments.
Monitor machine temperatures, allow proper warm-up/cool-down, and replace coolant as required.
Perform calculations using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.
Maintain shift continuity by documenting and communicating actions.
Identify and address machine malfunctions, defective tools, or measuring equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
Use precision measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances per drawings.

Desired Background/Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent (required).
2-year technical degree (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years’ related machine tool trade experience.
Experience with horizontal milling machines.
Proficient in the use of measuring tools, gauges, and cutting tools.
Strong knowledge of blueprints and routers.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
Adaptability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Must successfully pass a post-offer drug screen and background check.
