CNC Machinist (1st Shift most likely)

Job Title: CNC Machinist (1st Shift most likely)
Location: Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

Position Summary:

As a machinist, you will play a pivotal role in the manufacturing process, performing 3-4 setups per shift on small quantity orders. Operating conventional, special purpose, CNC, and Numerical Control (NC) machines and machining center, you will fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts, contributing directly to the realization of the company's pressure relief solutions.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

Study specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize products to determine the materials required and the machines to be used for part fabrication. Select appropriate raw materials to ensure precision and quality. Edit CNC programs to manufacture parts that meet drawing dimensions and tolerances. Determine optimal feeds and speeds for producing high-quality parts. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using precise measuring instruments, such as dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, and micrometers. Competently run single-piece flow through machining cells, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Maintain a clean and orderly work area while adhering to prescribed safety procedures. Assure that all shipments are accurate, meeting specification requirements, and dispatched on schedule. Proactively notify the appropriate supervisor of any arising problems, while developing effective work plans to keep all jobs on track. Conduct meticulous checks and implement necessary corrections on all parts, exceeding customer expectations. Accurately record data on pertinent lot cards or job traveler. Working knowledge of OE procedures, Company handbook, and Safety policies. Effective verbal communication skills exhibiting OE Values and Behaviors. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency in basic computer skills to navigate business systems such as SAP, Epicor, Oracle or D365 Ability to read and interpret documents, such as engineering drawings and specifications. Understanding of machine operating and maintenance instructions. Collaboration skills to work with other departments for problem-solving and implementing improvements. Competence in arithmetic, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Preform data entry ERP system for inventory transactions (job kitting) and clocking into job operations to record time on jobs. Effective problem solving skills for equipment operation and product processing.

 

Education and Certification Qualifications:

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. Five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
