Job Description
Join a leading manufacturer of pipes, valves, and flanges as a CNC Machinist/Operator. This role involves working in a production shop with pre-loaded programs, focusing on machining large parts such as flanges, elbows, and fittings. The position requires setting up with minimal edits using G code, and primarily involves working with carbon and stainless steel.
Must Haves5+ years of experience in CNC machining or CNC operating.Proficiency in using G code for setups.Experience with Fanuc and Siemens controls.Familiarity with Vertical Mill, VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe), and HBM (Horizontal Boring Mill).
ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC machines to machine small to large parts including flanges, elbows, and fittings up to 48\" to 60\" in size.Perform setups with minimal edits using G code on Vertical Mills with Siemens/Fanuc/Mazak/Mazatrol controls.Handle machining of parts with wide open tolerances, primarily using carbon and stainless steel materials.Maintain efficient production flow by indicating parts and touching off as necessary.Ensure quality and precision in machining by following blueprints and specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with machining large parts such as flanges and well necks.Ability to work with carbon steel and stainless steel materials.Knowledge of blueprint reading and machine shop operations.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is a large, renovated manufacturing shop with a shipping and receiving area, and a spacious machining shop. Each machining station is equipped with OH cranes and jib cranes to handle large parts. The shop is open air and non-climate controlled, but large fans are available to circulate air. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The 2nd shift operates from Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm to 1:00 am, with occasional weekends depending on production needs. The workplace is loud and bustling, with a diverse team of machinists and forklift drivers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
