Job Description:

Set up, operate, or tend more than one type of cutting or forming machine tool or robot.

Responsibilities:

 Meet all requirements of CNC A OPERATOR Implement daily practices, which will contribute to departmental housekeeping. Perform proficiently in a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office and department specific software.  Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.  Serve as an active member of the PHB team of employees by routinely performing tasks such as: assisting in the training of employees; participating in problem solving activities; reporting workplace safety hazards; suggesting quality improvement methods, etc. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as feed, speed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut. Enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines and equipment and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.Confers with engineers, production personal, programmers or others to resolve machining problems and optimize programs and tooling. Perform proven setups and ability to make minor edits to programs Complete gage room documentation for first piece approvalPossess a complete knowledge of machine tool and control functionsTroubleshoot problems in manufacturingTrain employees to operate CNC equipment.Complete or update setup instructions and/or work instructions, tooling sheets, etc

Education: No formal education required.

Experience: 12 months

CNC Operator A minimums plus completion of PHB on the job training and successful completion of CNC Setup B testing with a passing score OR equivalent combination of education/experience.Math Background – Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent’s and to draw and understand bar graphs. Must be able to work with both English and Metric systems of measure and convert to and from each system.Must have good communication and people skillsBe able to read and write simple correspondence and comprehend simple instructions.Must be able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

Physical:

Senses Sight and hearing required; must be able to distinguish color (required particularly for electrical wiring).Body Motion Full range including bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, stepping up and down, full wrist action.Weight Lifting requirements are moderate for this job regularly lifting 25 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds,
