**Job Title: Lathe Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking skilled Lathe Machinists for both 1st and 2nd shifts to machine details from plate or flat stock according to blueprints with precision. Our company specializes in producing hot runners for the plastic injection industry, involving various materials such as steel, copper, and nickel. The role requires operating a Haas 3-axis Lathe, setting up, making tool changes, editing G&M codes for feeds and speeds, and performing quality inspections using micrometers and calipers.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate Haas 3-axis Lathe and perform setup and tool changes.
+ Edit G&M codes for feeds and speeds.
+ Conduct quality inspections on each part using micrometers and calipers.
+ Program CNC from a print using templates, macros, and parametric.
+ Perform routine machine maintenance.
+ Read and interpret blueprints and measuring tools.
+ Replace tool inserts as required.
+ Ensure conformance by measuring parts.
+ Work independently and efficiently in a dynamic environment.
**Essential Skills**
+ Strong understanding of G&M codes.
+ 3 years of CNC Lathe setup and operation experience.
+ Experience with Haas or Fanuc controls for editing G&M codes.
+ Ability to read blueprints and measuring tools like digital micrometers and calipers.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Programming experience is desirable.
+ Experience with various materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and hardened steel.

**Work Environment**
The shop operates on a 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm (5:30pm when busy) and a 2nd shift from 7pm to 3:30am (5:30am when busy), with a 10% shift premium for 2nd shift. Employees work 40-56 hours per week and may be required to work 6 hours on Saturdays as needed. The facility is clean, climate-controlled, and includes multiple cafes and a workout room for employees.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
