Job Summary and Responsibilities
Assists in the delivery of patient care and performance of established tasks and procedures under the supervision of a physically present and immediately available Registered Nurse/ Hospital Provider. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.
Must be able to perform the following tasks efficiently: perform/record vital signs, CPR, apply oxygen delivering systems, perform simple wound irrigation/direct pressure/dressings, prepare sterile field for suturing, assist provider with treatment when appropriate, apply restraints, clean medical equipment and prepare for sterilization, collect urine specimens, and phlebotomyAssists in making observations, gathering data, and identifying patient care needsAssists with patient transports and transfersAnswer telephones, filing, greet patients/visitors, transcribe provider’s orders, electronic data entry, and assist with documentationAssists with cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of department equipment and suppliesPractices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policiesJob Requirements
