We are seeking a dedicated and compassionateNursing Assistant Supervisor t o provide supervision of Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1’s, Nursing Assistants, and Nursing Unit Aides in the nursing care of the residents at a Louisiana War Veterans Home. A large, complex, 156-bed, 24-hour health care facility. Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four years of experience in patient care; OR Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate or graduation from an Emergency Medical Technician Program plus two years of experience in patient care; OR Completion of an accredited registered or practical nursing program plus one year of experience in patient care. NOTE: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: As a Nursing Assistant Supervisor 2, you will oversee multiple units within the facility, which consists of four resident care units and provides care for residents who have medical needs, ADL needs, and who may be cognitively impaired or have a mental illness. In this role, you will also: + Supervise, review and evaluate subordinates' performance and conducts performance evaluations on subordinate staff. + May prepare, review and evaluate staffing schedules, resident assignments and other duty assignments, and make adjustments when necessary. + As required, interviews prospective employees, verifies eligibility and checks references. + Make rounds of inspection, review records and monitor the environment to ensure resident safety and that residents are receiving adequate nursing care in sanitary conditions. + Conduct meetings with subordinates, as indicated. + Orient and assist in facility required training programs for subordinates. + Instruct subordinates in proper therapeutic intervention and record keeping. + May perform Echocardiograms (EKG) or peripheral blood glucose tests. + Monitor to ensure adequate supplies are available for delivery of care. + Coordinate transportation for patients' appointments and assigns Nursing Assistants to accompany. + Attend staffing and resident council meetings, relay residents' concerns to subordinate. Attend workshops and seminars that provide guidance in clinical work. + Perform duties of lower level Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1’s and Nursing Assistants as necessary. + Plan and implement projects to improve the quality of resident care. Works directly with professional personnel in developing programs on therapeutic techniques with patients including re-motivation and rehabilitation. + Performs other related duties as required.
