Position Summary
The CNA / Scheduler / Central Supply Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily clinical operations by providing direct resident care, maintaining staffing schedules, and managing central supply inventory and distribution. This position plays a key role in ensuring quality resident care through proper staffing coverage, organized supply management, and effective communication with nursing staff and facility departments.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Responsibilities Provide direct resident care in accordance with individualized care plans and facility policies Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and feeding Observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to licensed nursing staff Ensure resident rooms and care areas are clean, safe, and organized Maintain accurate documentation of care provided Respond promptly to resident needs and call lights Promote dignity, compassion, and respect in all resident interactions Staffing Scheduler Responsibilities Manage and maintain daily staffing schedules for CNAs, CMAs, LVNs, and RNs Utilize scheduling software/HRIS systems to identify and fill staffing openings Contact employees to fill open shifts and call-ins Monitor staffing levels to ensure compliance with facility staffing requirements Work closely with Human Resources and nursing leadership to support onboarding and scheduling needs Assist in minimizing overtime while maintaining adequate staffing coverage Be available for last-minute schedule adjustments and staffing emergencies Participate in interviews or hiring support activities as requested Central Supply Responsibilities Maintain inventory and distribution of medical, nursing, and facility supplies Order supplies and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking Receive, organize, and distribute incoming supplies and equipment Ensure supply rooms are clean, organized, and properly stocked Track usage and communicate supply needs to department leadership Maintain records related to supply inventory and equipment Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards regarding storage and handling of supplies Coordinate with nursing and department managers regarding supply requests and special equipment needs Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification required Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in healthcare scheduling, central supply, or long-term care preferred Skilled nursing facility experience preferred Experience using scheduling software, electronic health records, or inventory systems preferred Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Detail-oriented with strong time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in basic computer applications and data entry Ability to handle staffing challenges in a professional and timely manner Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare operations preferred Demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and reliability Working Conditions May require occasional weekends, holidays, and on-call availability for staffing needs Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting residents Fast-paced healthcare environment requiring flexibility and adaptability Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification required Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in healthcare scheduling, central supply, or long-term care preferred Skilled nursing facility experience preferred Experience using scheduling software, electronic health records, or inventory systems preferred Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Detail-oriented with strong time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in basic computer applications and data entry Ability to handle staffing challenges in a professional and timely manner Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare operations preferred Demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and reliability
