Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction.

Every day, you will deliver compassionate basic care, assist with patient transport, and actively contribute to the patient's plan of care as a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, upholding the highest standards of conduct and patient well-being.

Provides patient personal care/hygiene and physical comfort, including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothes, cleaning, bed-making, assisting with ambulation, enemas, skin care and bowel/bladder elimination; provides such additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients based on skill, ability, limitations of scope of practice and patient acuity.Reports and documents patient temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Obtains and records measurement of patient height and weight; attaches patient to monitoring equipment. Observes and reports changes in patient condition.Assists nursing staff in the admission, discharge and transfer of patients by performing activities such as inventorying/storing patient belongings, providing patient with relevant personal care/comfort items, orienting patient/family and transporting patient to room or other location using wheelchairs, stretchers or patient beds.Obtains and labels a variety of samples (e.g. urine, stool and sputum specimens); transports blood and blood products.Prepares patient, equipment and supplies for specific procedures/examinations; instructs/assists patient in removing articles of clothing, jewelry and related items; escorts patient to dressing booths and assists them in putting on gown; assists with lifting, turning and moving patient and transfer to/from bed and procedure table.Provides patient information to nursing staff for inclusion in the interdisciplinary plan of care; documents relevant patient data in accordance with work unit standards.
