Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

Seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality Team in implementing quality control programmatic requirements for nuclear, DoE, DoD, and AS9100/ISO9001 projects. This role reports to the Quality Control Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Perform dimensional inspections (first article, in-process, and final) using conventional precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and digital height gauges.Program and operate Zeiss CMM with Calypso software, as well as Keyence Optical CMM and/or Faro arm.Conduct receipt inspection of materials, parts, and consumables while maintaining QA-controlled inventory.Perform XRF (X-Ray Fluorescent) and hardness testing of materials, with training provided if no previous experience.Ensure quality requirements are maintained to meet MM QA Program and Customer requirements.Verify all inspection activities are performed according to Customer requirements, procedures, and purchase order/contract agreements.Perform assigned QC witness/hold points as identified in work travelers, which may require traveling to Customer/Supplier facilities.Interface with Customers and Production personnel.Temporarily assigned to other activities/duties as needed to support the business.

Essential Skills

Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).A minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control inspection activities utilizing Faro Arm CMM and/or Keyence Optical CMM.Completed Zeiss Metrology, Keyence Optical CMM, and/or Faro Arm Training Classes desired.A minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control inspection activities in a mechanical or electrical discipline.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate quality and technical requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Machinist/Fabricator experience is a plus.Nuclear commercial grade dedication experience is a plus.Experience in aerospace AS9001 is beneficial.

Work Environment

Work in a machine shop with a schedule of 1st shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, which may transition to four 10-hour shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
