Cloud Systems Engineer - Data Management, Data Center Infrastructure Engineering DCIE (Amazon at Whole Foods Market)
We are looking for a talented AWS experienced Cloud System Engineer that is passionate about data management, replication, and data stores of all kinds. Do you have experience in some or all of: AWS RDS, Microsoft SQL Server, DynamoDB, MySQL, Redshift, Oracle? Perhaps you have a bit of development experience? If you do, and you’re looking for a position loaded with multiple technologies and interesting challenges, you may have found what you’re looking for.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud database solutions that meet high availability, performance, and security requirements
- Lead database migration projects from on-premises to cloud environments
- Create and optimize database maintenance and operational procedures
- Develop automation solutions for database operations and monitoring
- Provide technical leadership in database architecture and best practices
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
- Mentor team members on cloud database technologies and practices
- A forward-looking attitude that keeps you aware of the latest in database and replication technologies.


A day in the life
This team is part of Amazon World Wide Groceries, supporting Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Go. We have a number of cloud migration projects are in flight. This role can be involved with a wide range of activities, from planning and executing application/data migrations to AWS, managing legacy SQL Servers and other on prem environments, to helping teams architect best in class data management strategies and solutions.

About the team
The Datacenter Infrastructure Engineering team is part of the Amazon World Wide Grocery Stores. We are a centralized support team for the DBA's, Window Operating Systems, and VMWare environments at the Whole Foods Market (WFM) data centers, and we ensure WFM teams a successful in their on prem responsibilities, migrations to AWS, and native cloud environments.
