AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

An AWS Cloud Operations Architect (CoA) is a trusted advisor and cloud operations architect for our Enterprise Support customers. As a trusted advisor you'll have a direct impact in helping our customers gain the most value from cloud technology. You'll craft and execute strategies to drive our customers' adoption and use of AWS services. You will provide advocacy and technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices, and proactively keep your customers' AWS environments operationally healthy.

The close relationships developed with your customers will allow you to understand their business/operational needs and technical challenges, and help them achieve the greatest value from AWS. You will work with Public Sector customers in Norway — including government agencies, municipalities, and public institutions — helping them navigate their cloud journey while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.

Our Cloud Operations Architect partner with some of the most impactful organizations in the Nordic public sector. You'll provide advice on architecture, support strategy, project and launch planning, as well as ongoing operational issues. As we continue to expand, you'll have plenty of opportunities to develop your technical, consulting, and leadership skills. You'll work with talented cloud technologists whilst expanding your knowledge of AWS products.

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor for Enterprise Support Public Sector customers in Norway

- Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy whilst reducing cost and complexity

- Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges

- Using your technical acumen and customer obsession, drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management

- Provide architectural guidance using the AWS Well-Architected Framework

- Proactively identify risks and operational health optimizations across customer environments

- Navigate compliance requirements relevant to Norwegian and European public sector (e.g., Schrems II, GDPR, national security frameworks)

- Consult with a range of partners from developers through to senior executives

- Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers

- With a bias for action, proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS

- Uplift customer capabilities by running workshops and enablement sessions

- Solve a variety of problems across different customers as they migrate their workloads to the cloud
