Cloud Network Architect

Thales Cybersecurity Premium Services (CPS) is seeking a full-time Cloud Network Architect to join our team based in Australia. As a Network Architect, you will be responsible for creating scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions, ensuring high performance and adaptability to future technological advancements. You will collaborate closely with other business teams to align network systems with business needs and strategic goals. This role "owns" the network, you will be expected to understand the physical and logical design, expand for growth and maintain it in accordance with best practices and documentation plus mentoring team members.

The role can be remote with-in Australia and requires the successful applicant to undergo an Australian Police check. Australian citizenship is also required as the role requires Federal NV1 security clearance to be completed (or you already hold NV1 clearance).

About You
As a Network Architect, you have a deep understanding of networking technologies, network security, and architecture principles, along with the ability to support scalability and high availability within the network, expand for growth and maintain it in accordance with best practices and documentation. You possess strong analytical problem-solving skills, are perceptive and able to identify opportunities for improvement and growth. You are driven by a desire to achieve excellence in all aspects of your role and are committed to ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the Managed & Professional Services business.

About the Role
As a senior member of the team, you will be required to:

• Design high-level architecture for network systems including cloud-based networks

• Develop and document network topology, configuration, and security standards

• Evaluate and implement solutions for scalability, security, and performance improvements

• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices in alignment with architecture plans

• Ensure that network solutions support business continuity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance

• Implement and monitor network security solutions

• Develop network policies and procedures to ensure secure access to network resources

• Monitor network performance to identify issues and opportunities for enhancement

• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including outages and degradations • Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture, configuration settings, and network management policies

• Provide technical guidance and training to Network Engineers and support staff

• Engage with vendors and suppliers to evaluate new networking products and services

Knowledge & Experience
• 5+ years' experience in a previous Network Architect role, preferably within Cloud Infrastructure, or similar role with a strong desire to provide service to the customer beyond their expectations
• Cloud and infrastructure environment
• Ability to articulate business implications and risks in relation to the business
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain concepts
• Open-minded and forward-thinking in terms of vision for the business and team culture
• Ability to work as a team with decisions made to support moving toward common goals
• Professional certifications, tertiary qualifications in Networking or Computer Science or equivalent experience
