We’re seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join us at the U.S. Coast Guard C5ISC in Alexandria, VA. In this hands-on role, you’ll design and lead transformative cloud initiatives that power critical Coast Guard operations. Leveraging deep expertise in AWS, Azure, and Python, you’ll architect scalable cloud-native solutions, guide development efforts, and ensure best practices across architecture, deployment, and security—while mentoring and driving innovation that directly strengthens national security.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and architect scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions across AWS and/or AzureDevelop cloud strategy and roadmaps aligned with organization objectives and technical requirementsCreate reference architectures, design patterns, and technical standards for cloud implementationsLead architectural reviews and provide guidance on complex technical decisionsMentor, guide and supervise development teams on cloud-native application design and deploymentEvaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential impact on organizational goalsDrive adoption of DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, and automation frameworksFacilitate customer onboarding and implement a consistent pathway to cloud adoptionOptimize application performance and reliability in cloud environmentsDesign secure cloud architectures implementing zero-trust principles and defense-in-depth strategiesEnsure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.) and regulatory requirementsImplement identity and access management solutions and security monitoring frameworksConduct security assessments and remediate vulnerabilities in cloud environmentsPartner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including development, operations, security, and product managementPresent architectural designs and recommendations to executive leadershipCreate and maintain comprehensive technical documentationBasic Qualifications:
Requires BS and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in a customer-facing position for a minimum of 6+ years.Minimum 6+ year of Administration experience with cloud-based applications (MS O365, SharePoint, Azure AD, AWS)Experience administering Windows Server, and related servicesStrong understanding Active Directory, Azure AD, SAML and the standards, procedures, and processesExcellent verbal and written communications skills.Experience with Ansible, AWS console, Elastic, AWS, Azure, Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket and various cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) offeringsExperience onboarding customer log-data from AWS and Azure to on-premise or cloud-based analysis environments such as Elastic or SplunkAbility to obtain an Entry of Duty (EOD) Public TrustPerform operational and day-to-day administrative support functions, including troubleshooting issues and support of change and problem management processes.Support AWS Cloud hosted applications (including deployments, patches, security checks, and maintenance).Provide support and troubleshoot AWS deployed applications.Provide guidance in developing and optimizing administrative processes and procedures.Work with SMEs and Security Team in defining secure-based cloud architecture.Create and update standard operating procedures, and operational processes.Windows Server creation, configuration, upgrade, migration, and patching.Clearance: This position requires candidates to have TS/SCIMust, at a minimum, have one of these certifications: MCSE (Server), Certified AWS SysAdmin, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Dev/Associate), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Security, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions ArchitectCertifications:

Pay Range:Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
