The Cloud FinOps Analyst focuses on managing and analyzing Ferguson’s Cloud and Data Center spending to optimize costs and improve financial efficiency. This role will partner with Service Owners and finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting, lead efforts for cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize and govern cloud resource utilization. This role requires a high level of engagement, collaboration, and coordination with Service teams to ensure accountability and an optimized cost structure to deliver for our business team members and customers.
This is a Hybrid role based out of our HQ location in Newport News, VA, in accordance with the our Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.
Duties and Responsibilities:Cloud Cost Analysis: Analyze and report cloud spending across various platforms to identify trends, anomalies, and areas of potential cost reduction.Cost Optimization: Lead efforts to optimize and reduce cloud costs.Reporting and Forecasting: Create and maintain financial reports on cloud spending, including forecasting future costs and developing budgets for Service teams.Collaboration: Work closely with Service Owners and finance teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and accountability.Cloud Governance: Improve cloud governance and policy compliance.Tooling and Automation: Implement tooling and automation to deliver consistency, predictable, and optimized spend.Outcomes:Reduce cloud operating costs.Improve cloud governance and policy compliance.Enhance reporting, forecasting, and budgeting to improve Ferguson’s cloud financial management.Responsible for analyzing and reporting cloud spending across various platforms to identify trends, anomalies, and areas of potential cost reduction. Will communicate findings and holds teams accountable for optimizing and reducing costs. Creates and maintains financial reports on cloud spending, including forecasting future costs and developing budgets for Service teams. Identifies potential budget variances and provides visibility for leadership. Builds and leverages PowerBI dashboards with both micro- and macro-level details to support engineering teams in managing spend.
Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology with a Business minor, or equivalent work experience required.3+ years of experience with scripting languages or development strongly preferred.Finance savvy preferred.Strong organizational skills.Team oriented with an ability to also work independently.Strong attention to detail.Microsoft Excel and PowerBI experience preferred.Must be self-motivated.Professional written and oral communication skills.At Ferguson, we care for each other. $4,766.67 - $7,625.00-
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
