Cloud Engineering Manager

HP has opportunities for advanced subject matter experts in software and technology to solve complex business issues. Frequently contributing to the development of new ideas and best practices for cloud based technologies. Manages a team of professionals with complex problems and broad organizational scope. Manages a team of cloud engineers contributing to the developer experience in HP's cloud platform. Participate in cross-functional initiatives, acting as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.

Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.


Responsibilities

Leads the building of various opinionated cloud environments and platforms while aligning them with business and security strategies and requirements.

Builds standards and designs, and automates the deployment of software in cloud environments.

Strategically partners with stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.

Translates functional plans into operational processes and guides execution.

Leads portions of the planning and execution of multiple complex projects or programs in support of the continuing evolution of the organization's software products.

Partners with cross-functional software development teams to help them prioritize, plan, track and execute complex, cross organizational programs.

Contributes to technology strategy and engineering roadmaps around cloud platforms; executes strategic engineering proof of concepts around cloud platforms.

Translates sophisticated business requirements into scalable technical solutions meeting data warehousing/analytics design standards.

Acts as subject matter expert, identifies opportunities for process improvement and policy development and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.

Performs talent management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.


Education & Experience Recommended

Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

Typically has 7-10 years of job-related experience or 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in distributed & cloud computing, software & cloud design, programming languages, agile development methodologies, or a related field.

AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP, CSA certified

The pay range for this role is $130,700 to $205,200 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
