Cloud Engineer
ABOUT THE ROLE:

This AWS Cloud Engineer position provides design and engineering support for Skechers' cloud infrastructure applications using Hashi Corp’s suite of tools. The incumbent will be an experienced technical professional with deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and security automation who has the capability to embrace and expand the existing Cloud Infrastructure. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for day-to-day infrastructure automation tasks, coordination with respective internal stakeholders, and maintaining and continuously upgrading our cloud architecture using modern DevOps practices and HashiCorp technologies.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Infrastructure as Code: Design, implement, and maintain Terraform modules and configurations for multi-cloud infrastructure provisioning and management across AWS environmentsImage Management: Develop and maintain automated machine image pipelines using Packer to create standardized, secure, and compliant AMIs for various application workloadsSecurity & Secrets Management: Implement and manage HashiCorp Vault for centralized secrets management, dynamic credentials, and encryption-as-a-service across all cloud environmentsPolicy as Code: Design, implement, and maintain Sentinel policies for Terraform Cloud/Enterprise to enforce security, compliance, and governance standards across infrastructure deploymentsWork with technology teams to develop target state cloud architecture using HashiCorp best practices, as well as planning for ongoing cloud technology optimizationParticipate in cloud/technology discussions and facilitate decisions with other teams within the organization regarding HashiCorp tool adoption and implementationManage/execute POCs and feasibility studies to validate next-gen product concepts and technologies leveraging HashiCorp products to guide business and technology decisionsEnforce adherence to architectural standards/principles through automated Sentinel policy enforcement, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, governance, and cost controlsAutomation & CI/CD: Integrate HashiCorp tools into CI/CD pipelines for automated infrastructure testing, deployment, and compliance validationKeep abreast of HashiCorp product roadmaps and gain expertise in evolving technologies to understand how new features could be applied.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:​

Ability and working experience in bash, batch, NodeJs or Python scripting.Understanding of GIT, ansible playbooks and cloud templating.Ability to create business cases for new technology proposals.Working knowledge of at least one configuration management tool, such as Ansible, Chef, and/or Puppet.Working experience with JavaScript Frameworks (Angular), RESTful APIs, JSON and XML formats is a plus.Possess an understanding of system testing including platform, integration, load and scale testing.Knowledge of infrastructure design & server infrastructure implementation.Experience with networking and web standards such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, web security mechanisms, proxies, firewalls & application delivery controllers.Balance of strategic and tactical skills and the ability to work on cross-functional teams.Ability to write technical documentation (platform architecture, strategy, engineering etc.).Ability to work on multiple concurrent complex projects and to coordinate the work of others in the cloud environment.

REQUIRMENTS:

Experience: 3-10 years supporting mission-critical infrastructure at large organizations with 2+ years in cloud-based network managementHashiCorp Tools: 2+ years with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, 1+ years each with Packer for image building and Vault for secrets managementAWS Core Services: Proficient in IAM security models, container solutions (ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes), and database services (DynamoDB, MongoDB)AWS Extended Services: Experience with Elasticache, ElasticSearch, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Workspaces, and other AWS servicesInfrastructure as Code: Expert in writing Terraform modules, managing Terraform Cloud/Enterprise workspaces, and creating Sentinel policies for governanceImage Management: Hands-on experience with Packer templates for building machine images across multiple platforms (AWS AMI, Docker)Security & Compliance: Expertise in Vault authentication methods, policy management, and architecting secure cloud solutions with automated enforcementCloud Architecture: Deep knowledge of IaaS/PaaS/SaaS delivery models, high availability systems, and cloud transformation strategiesDevOps & Monitoring: Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring AWS systems

The pay range for this position is $130,000-$170,000/yr USD.
