Cloud Data Engineer

**Introduction**
The Cloud Data Engineer will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on developing scalable ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data quality, and enabling analytics and business intelligence solutions that drive informed decision-making. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including project management, product management, and business stakeholders.
**Your role and responsibilities**
* Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines and workflows using SQL, Python, and GCP tools.
* Build and optimize data models in Google BigQuery to support analytics and reporting needs.
* Manage and automate data integration and deployment processes using Jenkins and other CI/CD tools.
* Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across systems and environments.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, validate data outputs, and ensure deliverables meet business objectives.
* Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
* Contribute to best practices, documentation, and process improvements for data engineering workflows.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Strong SQL - advanced query design, optimization, and data manipulation.
* ETL/BI Development - experience in designing and maintaining data pipelines and dashboards.
* Jenkins - ideally 2+ years of experience in automating data engineering workflows.
* Cloud Technologies - hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Google BigQuery, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), or equivalent cloud data services (e.g.: AWS Redshift and S3, Azure Synapse Analytics and Blob Storage).
* Python - proficiency in scripting, data wrangling, and automation tasks.
* Excellent communication skills - Advanced spoken English required, ability to work directly with project and product management teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements and manage validation/testing.
* Self-starter - capable of working independently and interacting confidently with end-users and technical teams.
* Collaboration and stakeholder management - effective at aligning technical solutions with business needs and priorities.
