Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to provide technical leadership and guidance for a team of Cloud Engineers. The role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing cloud architecture projects primarily using AWS, with some projects using GCP or Azure. This position offers multiple paths for career growth and professional development.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers by providing technical direction and code/design reviews.Design and implement primary AWS architectures using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.Develop and manage modern CI/CD pipelines with AWS or other cloud-native and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.Conduct architectural reviews and audits; produce detailed technical documentation and cloud architecture diagrams.Participate in discovery and requirements gathering; translate business needs into technical solutions.Monitor cloud performance and costs; recommend optimizations and enforce governance, security, and compliance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions.Partner with Project Managers on project kickoff, Agile/Scrum delivery, backlog, sprint planning, and risk mitigation.Act as a technical consultant, advising on best practices for AWS cloud architecture.Document architectural decisions, configurations, and design artifacts.

Essential Skills

Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering, preferably with AWS.Strong expertise with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).Proficient in cloud-native technologies and serverless architectures.Solid programming/scripting skills for cloud automation (Python, Bash, Node.js, or similar).Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers.Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

AWS Certified Solutions Architect or other AWS Professional level certifications is highly desirable.Experience with serverless frameworks and AWS data services.Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, X Ray, ELK).Experience with microservices architectures and AI/ML workloads.Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, or equivalent professional experience.

Work Environment

This position is based in a Center of Excellence in the US or Canada, with the option for remote work. Candidates must be able to work normal US time zones. The role involves engaging with high-profile clients and working on a wide variety of innovative projects. The work environment supports professional development and offers clear career growth paths across technical and management tracks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $105.00/hr.
