More about the role
As a Clothing Central Merchandiser, you will contribute to enhanced decision‑making across the full product lifecycle, supporting categories and Supply Chain teams to improve availability, stock management and productivity. You’ll be responsible for facilitating our planning frameworks across Clothing, ensuring commercial teams are set up to achieve key targets and deliver the best possible customer outcomes.
You will oversee core processes within our Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) system, including reporting, forecasting and system governance. Working closely with Sainsbury’s Tech and cross‑functional teams, you will help maintain and enhance our Anaplan capabilities, continuously seeking opportunities to improve functionality, best practice and ways of working.

You will bring strong commercial merchandising experience, with the ability to analyse complex data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations. You’ll be confident working cross‑functionally in a fast‑moving environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
You’ll be naturally curious, proactive and comfortable challenging existing ways of working to drive improvement. Building strong relationships and communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels will be essential to your success in this role.
Essential criteria
• Ability to analyse complex data sets and present clear commercial recommendations.
• Strong & diverse commercial merchandising experience.
• Strong understanding of merchandising tools, forecasting and planning platforms.
• Proven capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a cross‑functional environment.
• Competence in producing high‑quality content and analysis using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to support and improve planning frameworks, system processes and reporting tools.
