Department: Cardiovascular ICU

Location: Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, 205 N East Ave., Jackson, MI 49201

Schedule: 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday rotation

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12 hours shifts)

Cardiac Universal Bed Unit – 22 bed unit

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Your day-to-day impact includes:

· Collecting and recording essential patient data – vitals, food and fluid intake/output, and more – with precision and care.

· Responding to patient needs and partnering with RNs to ensure maximum comfort and safety.

· Noticing the little changes that can make a big difference – and reporting them promptly.

· Supporting mobility by helping patients ambulate and get where they need to go.

· Assisting with oxygen devices under RN direction and applying slings post-pacemaker procedures.

· Performing clinical tasks such as Foley catheter insertion, bladder scans, enemas, blood glucose checks, and documenting results.

· Providing help with daily activities, like dressing, meals, and hygiene.

· Supporting RNs during equipment use and bedside procedures.

· Delivering culturally sensitive care to a wide range of patients — from pediatrics to geriatrics.

· Promoting positive experiences for patients and their families through kind, respectful interaction.

· Performing phlebotomy and IV access procedures with confidence and care.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

To qualify, you’ll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following:

Current nursing student (minimum two completed semesters) Graduate of an LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant program Certified in Phlebotomy Previous Clinical Tech experience

Also required:

Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to tailor care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations Experience in an acute care setting (preferred, not required)

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Valid BLS certification (or must be obtained during Patient Care Orientation)
