Clinical Systems Specialist
**Responsibilities** **This posting represents multiple positions.** **The areas will are hiring for are : CDH and CSI** **Candidates must be within driving distance to a Mayo Clinic location.** **This is a limited tenure position. End dates for some roles will be 3/2028 and others, 3/2030. Details will be explained during the interview.** The Clinical System Specialist Informatics provides leadership, consultation, and direction for information technology that impacts clinical and nursing information management. The Clinical Systems Specialists Informatics serves as a bridge between clinical practice, technology, and information management to enhance patient care. They will be assigned as the lead for particular EHR applications or service lines as appropriate (may be client funded) to provide coordination amongst various IT, EHR support, and practice teams. This responsibility includes: • Assessment of comprehensive data to derive the problem as defined by the clinical situation using evidenced based practice and structured analysis techniques o Includes appropriate prioritization and escalation as needed • Involves the key stakeholders in formulating an appropriate action plan and identifies expected outcomes based on the assessment and issue. o Applies evidence-based practices in collaboration with IT and practice leadership in developing comprehensive solutions to attain expected outcomes. o Ensures appropriate business continuity planning in place and provides support for EHR outages. • Implementing the plan in partnership with the healthcare team members in a timely manner, utilizing evidenced-based interventions specific to the situation. o Employs change management techniques to support the clinical end user with the transition and adoption of information technologies. o Plays a key role to the development and testing of new applications, or enhancements to existing applications. Evaluates the use and usability of the product from the viewpoint of the end user. • Leading the evaluation of system usage in the work environment to support workflow and to inform system design. o Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the goals of the practice are achieved. o Facilitates the use of data to evaluate outcomes • Demonstrating informatics leadership by providing direction, input, and assuming responsibility for the following: o Partnering with providers in the EHR build program or service area leadership to improve practice outcomes and streamline request processes through technology optimization and innovation efforts. o Participation in organizational shared decision-making situations, including formal governance committees, that improve informatics practice, clinical practice, organizational performance and outcomes. This includes participation in key enterprise practice committees to guide technology discussions. o Sharing knowledge and skills with staff in formal and informal settings Including regularly leading collaboration meetings for assigned application/service area with appropriate informatics, IT leads, and EHR support staff. The American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice, ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses provides the basis for practice. **Qualifications** At least 3 years of healthcare and 3 years informatics/IT experience and a bachelor’s in healthcare related field. Master’s degree in healthcare-related field strongly preferred. Clinical or Nursing licensure preferred. ANCC or CPHIMSS certification preferred. Ability to develop effective working relationships throughout the organization. Ability to apply an evidence-based practice to informatics. Project management experience is preferred. Silver Certification in Quality Academy is preferred. Experience in training or teaching others. Demonstrated computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications. **Exemption Status** Exempt **Compensation Detail** Pay is dependent upon location.
