The Clinical Support Engineer organizes and maintains technical operations, evaluates and purchases outside services, essential supplies and repair parts of biomedical equipment.
A caregiver in this position works weekdays, 8:00AM – 5:00PM with on-call rotating night shift once the caregiver is fully trained.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Participate in the selection of new medical equipment systems by analyzing organizational and regulatory requirements and by evaluating available products and vendors.
Manage the installation, use, testing, and maintenance of existing/new medical equipment systems.
Collaborate with information technology staff to integrate medical equipment systems with information systems applications.
Provide consultation and training on medical equipment systems.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree in biomedical or electronic engineering.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Related previous experience and co-op/internship preferred.
Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.
Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.
Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts.
Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.
Must be available for off-hour support and problem resolution.
