As CS Lead Respiratory Care, you will provide managerial and clinical leadership of your assigned team. You will also serve as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability.  

This role provides the unique opportunity to work in pediatrics, delivering exceptional care to children. This position also provides the opportunity to demonstrate your leadership abilities through peer leadership, while also gaining valuable opportunities for career advancement and growth.

A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday rotation 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Respiratory staff as designated by departmental management. Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and act as a resource person for staff. Assign therapist workload and adjust staffing based on patient volume. Participate in continuous quality improvement. Provide feedback on staff performance. Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols. Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team. Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs. Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable). Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (where applicable). If designated as a Technical Consultant by the blood gas Laboratory Director, meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Associate’s Degree and three years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including critical care or a specialty environment OR Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience  Graduate of an accredited Program of Respiratory Therapy Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC Current licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Completion of a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Heart Association (AHA

Physical Requirements:

Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
