Clinical Specialist/Lead RRT

**This position is eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus.**
As CS/Lead RRT, you will provide managerial and clinical leadership of your assigned team. You will support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability.
**A caregiver in this position works evenings, 1:00pm-11:30pm (4 x 10's), with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Provide clinical leadership to the Respiratory staff as designated by departmental management.
+ Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and act as a resource person for staff.
+ Assign therapist workload and adjust staffing based on patient volume.
+ Participate in continuous quality improvement.
+ Provide feedback on staff performance.
+ Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols.
+ Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team.
+ Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs.
+ Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable).
+ Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (where applicable).
+ If designated as a Technical Consultant by the blood gas Laboratory Director, meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Associate's Degree and 3 years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including critical care or a specialty environment **OR** Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience
+ Graduate of an accredited Program of Respiratory Therapy
+ Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
+ Current licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
+ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Certification (as appropriate to site)
+ Completion of a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Heart Association (AHA) (inpatient only as appropriate to site)

**Physical Requirements:**
+ Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
+ Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
+ May require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
+ Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
