This individual is responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients at the WSH. The psychologist provides administration, interpretation, and write-up of psychological testing administered to patients as requested. This position also conducts group, individual, and family psychotherapies for assigned patients. Human Resource Contact: Brenda Hales /brenda.hales@wyo.gov/ 307-677-5951 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed in the job level. + Provides psychological evaluation for purposes of admission screening, treatment planning, diagnostic clarification, readiness for discharge, and community placement, guardianship, and as required to determine eligibility for other services. + Diagnoses and treats mental and emotional disorders. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapies and may involve a number of different formats such as the use of cognitive-behavioral treatment techniques. + Provides and interprets psychological testing, including the evaluation of mental illness, intelligence, personality, and neuropsychological functioning. + Confers with interdisciplinary care teams to discuss, plan, and determine course of action in patient/client care. + Designs, constructs, installs, and implements treatment programs for a treatment unit, section, or group. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of clinical supervision techniques, theory, and practices. + Knowledge of working in an inpatient facility + Knowledge of working in and designing interdisciplinary treatment plans MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: PsyD or PhD in Psychology Experience: 2-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Psychology) Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Wyoming Necessary Special Requirements PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: + Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there will be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, etc. NOTES: + FLSA: Exempt + A background check, including fingerprinting, will be completed through the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Wyoming Department of Family Services, and the F.B.I. for every successful applicant. + Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing will be conducted on safety-sensitive positions.
