Our education department is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Professional Development Specialist to lead initiatives that empower healthcare professionals, enhance clinical competencies, and support lifelong learning. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of patient care by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based practice.
Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by building teams and relationships through mentoring, support and positive communication working directly with frontline clinical staff. Serve as a formal and informal mentor for new clinical staff members and mentor new preceptors to be successful in their role. Responsible for unit-based onboarding and orientation. Teach staff how to manage the care of patients including assessment, interdisciplinary planning, implementation, evaluation of patient care, teaching and discharge planning. Identify, communicate and respond to meet the learning needs of clinical staff. Serves as a resource/consultant for patients, nursing staff and other disciplines in area of specialty. Promotes patient education needs for frontline clinical staff. Training/education of clinical staff during non-traditional work hours may be required based on the needs of assigned unit.Preferred Experience/Qualifications: Must be a RN with 3 years of Labor and Delivery or OB experience. Previous teaching or precepting experience preferred.
Schedule:
This position will work within our Labor and Delivery/OB and Med-Surg departments. This position offers a flexible schedule with no fixed start or end times, however, attendance is required for any scheduled classes that this person is required to teach. Weekend and off-shift coverage is not regularly required, but occasional classes may need to be taught to staff who work at night or on weekends—typically just a few times per year. This is standard 5-day schedule. No holiday shifts are required.
