Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to manage the final verification stage of the prescription process. In this role, you will ensure prescriptions are accurately typed and comply with company policies, state and federal regulations, and REMS program requirements. You will confirm that orders are filled correctly and all items are accounted for, review shipping details to ensure proper medication storage and correct delivery, and assist with processing order returns. Additionally, you will identify and report pharmacovigilance issues and handle opening or closing procedures for the pharmacy, depending on your shift.
Responsibilities
+ Staff pharmacy and manage the final verification stage of the prescription process.
+ Ensure prescriptions are typed accurately and comply with policies, regulations, and REMS program requirements.
+ Verify that orders are filled correctly by the technician and all items are accounted for.
+ Review shipping details to ensure medications are shipped appropriately.
+ Assist with excursion/stability assessments during transit.
+ Process order returns efficiently.
+ Identify and report pharmacovigilance.
+ Handle opening and/or closing procedures for the pharmacy.
+ Take limited phone calls directed to the team’s hunt group.
Essential Skills
+ PharmD or Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
+ Missouri Pharmacist License.
+ 3+ years of mail order, retail, or hospital pharmacy experience.
+ Prescription verification expertise.
+ Patient counseling proficiency.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with specialty drugs and specialty pharmacies.
Work Environment
Work closely with other pharmacists and technicians in a low-stress environment. Minimal time spent on phone calls, with a primary focus on prescription order verification and opportunities to assist with other pharmacy projects. Gain valuable experience with specialty drugs and the operation of specialty pharmacies. Schedule varies but generally ranges from 7:40 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $59.00 - $69.00/hr.
