Position: Assistant Manager of Clinical Operations – Emergency Department
Shift: 1.0 FTE Evening, Nights & Weekends (Flexible shift)

Position Overview:
The Assistant Manager of Clinical Operations combines clinical expertise and leadership practices aligned with the IU Health Way to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes. They partner with the unit manager to develop and execute action plans focused on quality and safety improvements, care affordability, and enhancing patient and team member experiences. As a member of the interprofessional team, they foster an environment of empowerment and excellence while advancing evidence-based nursing practices and standards. This role is part of the leadership team within a 24/7 operational setting, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with the unit manager to develop and implement action plans for quality, safety, patient and team member experience improvements.
• Lead the execution of these plans and analyze their effectiveness.
• Collaborate within an interprofessional team to promote a culture of clinical excellence.
• Advocate for and demonstrate evidence-based practices and nursing standards.
• Support staff development and promote adherence to professional nursing practices.
• Assist in creating an environment that empowers staff and fosters organizational excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional advanced life support certifications may be required based on unit or department specialty.
• Experience:
- Emergency Department bedside experience strongly preferred.
- 2 years of bedside experience strongly preferred.
- Charge nurse experience preferred.
