**The role you'll contribute:**
Under supervision, the Clinical Office Specialist is responsible for all scheduling and clerical duties within their applicable department. Essential duties include scheduling specialized procedures, making appointments for patients according to established department protocols, verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and re-verification applicable to patient's visit. Duties will also include providing excellent customer service via phone and in person, referring callers to the appropriate departments. This individual will procure pertinent medical records and update the patient chart for clinic visits. The incumbent must work collaboratively with all clinical service staff in support of direct patient services. The Clinical Office Specialist serves as a point of contact with other internal and external departments with the goal of fostering an environment which promotes the patient experience. This individual must be highly flexible with the ability to accommodate changing needs of the department. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Answers the telephone in a professional manner; screens calls, takes messages, directs calls appropriately
Creates new patient packets of pertinent forms as required by the facility and department. Queues all patients upon arrival to department as needed. Captures patient ID photos and enters demographic information as needed
Registers patients for respective services, ensuring patient demographics and account information are appropriate for patient account type as determined by patients visit and s directed by department leadership.Performs benefit eligibility verification applicable to patients visit.Creates a notice of estimated total charges and patient financial responsibility.Responsible for thorough financial assessments, authorizations/pre-certifications, and/or benefit memos on patients accounts to ensure expeditious billing and to protect financial stand of AdventHealth.Ensures integrity of patient accounts by working error reports daily and meets/exceeds accuracy standard goal determined by department leadership.Meets/exceeds upfront cash collection standard goal determined by department leadership
