We're seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to continue the growth of our Post-Surgical unit at Emory University Hospital Midtown. As the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), you're responsible for being a capable CNS who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population and routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations.

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is the clinical lead for a program or an area of defined nursing practice. Provides leadership in order to integrate new knowledge and innovation within a specialty area. Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills within the three spheres of influence: patient/family, nurses, and the organization/system. Collaborates with the Nursing Director(s) to lead clinical practice and education on the unit, with in the division, and across the health system. Accountable for designing, implementing, and measuring safe, cost effective, evidence-based care strategies. Contributes to the advancement of nursing practice at the unit/system, local, state and national and international levels and is instrumental in the application of the Professional Practice/Care Transformation Model across the health system. Leads implementation of the Care Transformation Model. Leads programs and initiatives that are congruent with EHC and nursing's strategic plan. Models transformational leadership behaviors. Demonstrates leadership in ethical decision- making and patient advocacy.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.Master's degree in nursing.Meets GA Board of Nursing requirements for CNS. Three years of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse with at least two years of recent experience in the area of concentration. BLS and ACLS certifications required.
