As a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) at MercyOne, is a generalist prepared at the bachelor’s degree level within 6 years. The major thrust of the CNM role knows the patient, communication, and integration of care. The CNM has specialized knowledge in horizontal leadership is accountable for the management of care and the care environment. In addition to the generalist preparation in nursing with enhanced clinical skills, the CNM is primarily setting based and is responsible for the patients and staff. In his or her day-to-day practice, the CNM develops an overall view of patients, families, and caregivers, and establishes strong partnerships with them to deliver optimal care. The CNM has 24-hour accountability for the care provided by self and others to whom care is delegated.

General Requirements:
Performs or oversees the collection of a holistic assessment and the development and implementation of a plan of care in coordination with the admitting RN. Oversees the management of patient care: Assesses the patient population weekly. Participates with the multidisciplinary rounding team in planning delivery and evaluation of patient focused care. Trouble shoots complex problems in patient care, documents findings and progress in patient records.Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Must be a registered nurse and must hold an active license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa. Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization is preferred and strongly encouraged. F Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 5 years thereafter. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
