Description:

Reporting to the Director of ED, the Clinical Nurse delivers high quality of care to patients in an Emergency Room setting.

General Summary:

As a member of our staff, you'd be expected to apply high-level nursing expertise in emergency situations that can, at times, be stressful.  The Emergency Department can be fast-paced. Your duties and responsibilities may require split-second decision-making skills and would include the following:

Quickly assessing the severity of patients' conditions.Observing and recording patient vital signs.Administering intravenous fluids and medications.Properly using ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment.Ordering diagnostic tests.On-the-spot collaboration with other team members.Applying nursing protocols to life-threatening situations.

What you will need

Required:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN within a specific time frame)Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting

Preferred:

BSN or MSN preferred  BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

Current knowledge of nursing skills and practice

Computer and audiovisual skills using various applications: internet, email, word processing

Ability to retrieve and interpret data

Effectively read, speak, write, compose and comprehend English

Effective eye and hand coordination

Ability to analyze and synthesize information within a short period of time

Effective problem-solving skills

Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize

Ability to work well with individuals and groups

Pay Range - $58.05/hr (Flat Rate)

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
