Institute Epilepsy Center Harford and New Britain CTThis position is a collaboration between the Institute of Living and Hartford HealthCarersquos Ayer Neuroscience Institute and reflects our commitment to embedding behavioral health services in medical settings throughout the system The clinical neuropsychologist will join our growing team of dedicated and skilled neuropsychologists embedded in other neuroscience divisions The epilepsy neuropsychologist will have office locations in Hartford CT days per week and New Britain CT days per week The Epilepsy Center provides comprehensive care by a dedicated team and is accredited as level by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers There are epileptologists advanced practice providers neurosurgeons and multiple other Family Movement Disorders Center Memory Care Center Institute of Living Inpatient Psychiatry and General Neuropsychology Outpatient Clinic and Hartford Hospital medical inpatient and inpatient neuropsychologists and traineesJob ResponsibilitiesThe neuropsychologist is an essential member of the comprehensive care team and performs outpatient neuropsychological evaluations and consultations for patients with seizure disorders The neuropsychologist is adept at gathering relevant historical information analyzing integrating and interpreting data and findings completing timely detailed and accurate documentation and providing comprehensive feedback to the team during surgery conference meetings Duties will generally includeStandard evaluations for cognitive deficits anxiety depression attentional disorders and other factors impacting the daily performance of people with epilepsyPresurgical evaluations focused on neuro anatomical correlation and advising the safety of specific neurosurgical treatment options during our weekly epilepsy surgery conferenceComplex procedures including Wada tests functional testing and cortical mapping and awake craniotomies in close partnership with neurodiagnostic neuro oncology and neurosurgery colleaguesThere may be opportunities to work with our radiology team to oversee fMRI protocols and perform interpretationClose collaboration with
