Will coordinate with leadership on new test development and partnership with our physician stakeholders on needs for the region and enterprise. **Job Summary** Provides clinical and technical consultation in laboratory methods, instrumentation, quality control, test selection, and interpretation of laboratory testing to ensure the delivery of services in accordance with the Sanford mission, vision, and strategic goals. Maintains strong relationships with members of the medical staff and other health care professionals to provide information related to the laboratory. Acts as a liaison between the clinical laboratory and clinicians and serves as a consultant to clinical providers to aid in education and interpretation of laboratory test results. Collaborates with partners in the healthcare system, public health, and/or industry to improve clinical laboratory services. Attends national and international conferences in specific area of discipline to maintain expertise in focus area and updated credentialing. Provides expertise on appropriate laboratory and institutional committees. Provides a key role in the community as it pertains to the institution and provide influence on national regulations and/or guidelines. May be responsible for serving as a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Laboratory Director. **Qualifications** Doctorate degree (PhD) in a specific clinical laboratory discipline is required. One year experience or fellowship training required. Other credentials may be required depending upon accrediting agency. Certification as a diplomat of specific laboratory discipline required. If incumbent does not have certification, must obtain within five years from date of hire into position. If performing testing and working in the state of North Dakota (ND), must be licensed by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.
