RWJBH is seeking a highly dedicated Clinical Manager for our Renal (Kidney/Pancreas) Transplant Center at our New Brunswick campus.
Clinical Manager(RN)- Renal Transplant
Job Summary:
RWJBarnabas Health s transplant program is rapidly growing and we are looking for an experienced Clinical Manager to join our dynamic team at our New Brunswick campus. In collaboration with the Transplant Division management team, the Clinical Manager, Renal (Kidney/Pancreas) Transplant will play a crucial role in overseeing all clinical and administrative operations related to patient evaluation, care, and management, including supervision of RN - nurse coordinators. Your efforts will ensure continuity of care, uphold quality standards, and enhance patient satisfaction.

The Clinical Manager (RN)- Renal Transplant reports directly to the Vice President, Transplant, Heart & Vascular Service LinesQualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in nursing5 years of experience in an allied health or hospital position required.Relevant clinical experience with end stage renal disease patients or renal/pancreas transplant patients. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a less structured environment than the inpatient settingPreferred:
Master's degree in healthcare related field2 years of experience in organ transplantCertifications and Licenses Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) requiredMust be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of New JerseyCCTC Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (preferred)Scheduling Requirements:

Essential Functions:
Team Management:
Supervise and develop a team of clinical staff, including RN - nurse coordinators, nurse practitioners, medical assistants and other relevant personnelCultivate a safe, positive, and inclusive work environment that promotes exceptional customer service and delivers outstanding patient care experiencesConduct meaningful performance evaluations, provide supportive coaching and constructive feedback, and address any disciplinary matters when necessaryOperational Oversight:
Drive the daily operations of the transplant program, managing patient evaluations, waitlist processes, and pre and post-transplant care to ensure optimal efficiency and high-quality patient outcomesConducts comprehensive case reviews by assessing social determinants of health and the unique needs of the patient population served. Tailors and implements care plans that address these specific needs (eg age, culture, language, and sensory impairments). This approach involves effectively communicating with patients, parents, and primary caregivers, ensuring that interactions are appropriate (eg developmental stage, education level, and literacy skills)Anticipate, guard against and manage the resolution of any issues in the clinical areaWork closely with organ donor organizations to organ donations, including referring potential donors, maintaining organ viability, and facilitating donation conversations with families, ensuring a smooth and efficient donation process, from initial referral to organ recovery and transportProcess Improvement:
Identify opportunities for workflow enhancement, streamline processes in alignment with program policies, and eliminate barriers that hinder team efficiency.Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, other departments, and external partners such as living donor programs to optimize the transplant process and enhance the patient experience.Ensure the effective utilization of hospital and clinical resources for improved operational performance.Strategic Planning and Program Development
Assists the management team in strategic marketing and business development initiatives utilizing transplant services data for planning activities and through active participation in outreach activities to enhance and grow the renal transplant program, expanding primary and secondary market share in the regionMonitor and manage objectives alongside key performance metrics to drive program successProgram Compliance:
Formulates, reviews, and revises departmental policies and procedures which safeguard patient care and promote efficient and creative practiceEnsures department's standard of practice, policies and procedures meet compliance with UNOS, OPTN, TJC, and CMSProvide education and guidance to staff on clinical competency, patient care, and regulatory requirementsOther Duties:
