Labcorp is seeking a Grossing Technologist  to join our team at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:30am - 7pm

Job Responsibilities

Perform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slidesSpecialize in the accurate gross description and dissection of surgical specimensDiagram pertinent gross specimens as necessaryPrepare sections of human tissue for pathologist diagnostic studyOperate laboratory instruments to properly display specimensPerform equipment maintenance as needed Record equipment log data in an accurate and timely mannerComply with applicable safety procedures and protocolEffectively communicate with histology team members

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

3 months or more of grossing experienceASCP or AMT certification

In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresExperience working in a high volume laboratory environmentAbility to work independently and within a team environmentProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

**Pay Range: $29.00 - $41.00 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. 

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
