Clinical Laboratory Technician

Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

Communicate effectively with client office staff

Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems

Meet department activity and production goals

Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated

Job Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Associate’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements

Minimum of 1 year of previous clinical lab work experience is required

LA State CLS (LSBME) license is required

ASCP or AMT certification is required

Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus

High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
