Labcorp is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team at Birmingham, AL. This is an onsite position.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Job Responsibilities
Provide monthly and quarterly quality metric data analysis and assist in generating metric reportsAssist in training staff on quality related topicsAct as a site administrator for document control and IQE applications in MediaLabSupport all quality improvement efforts and the quality management system for the regional laboratorySchedule and conduct quality audits of assigned departments/facilities processes and provide audit reportsHelp facilitate external audits and inspections by the CAP, CMS, ISO 15189 and other agencies as neededAssist the laboratory with remaining inspection readyParticipate in regulatory and accrediting agency inspections when neededReview of proficiency testing resultsAssist with investigations and corrective actions for nonconforming events and complaints including facilitating root cause analyses, effectiveness checks, FMEAs, and risk assessmentsSupport change control processesStay current with regulatory agency requirementsMonitor the progress and usage of various electronic quality systems including competency, training, document control, nonconforming event, and metric tracking programsParticipate in monthly Quality meetings and compose minutesServe as a resource on regulatory issues and complianceAssist with licensure and accreditation applications/renewalsPerform administrative and clerical duties as neededMinimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology2 or more years of clinical laboratory testing experience in a CLIA/CAP laboratoryPreferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology1 or more years of quality related experience in a CLIA/CAP laboratoryAdditional Job Standards
In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirementsFamiliarity with an electronic data management system is a plus (i.e. MediaLab)General knowledge of laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA/ISO) and licensing requirementsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresExperience working in a high volume laboratory environmentBasic understanding of audit related requirements and proceduresWorking knowledge of quality assurance best practices and proceduresExcellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systemsHigh level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionAble to pass a standardized color blindness testFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
