Clinical Laboratory Assistant, HMC Microbiology
**Job Description** **Who we’re looking for:** The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP) in Seattle, WA has a fantastic opportunity for a **Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA)** with the **Microbiology Laboratory** at Harborview Medical Center. As a CLA, you will provide critical support services to the Microbiology AFB Laboratory. This lab coordinates with infection control and infectious disease teams, as well as county and state public health labs, to provide accurate and timely results for UW Medicine patients and beyond! **Work schedule:** + 50% FTE (20 hours per week) + Monday – Friday + Day shift **What you’ll contribute:** + Unpacks supplies while prioritizing refrigerated items, matches packing slips, and labels items with received date and other identifying information. + Stores supplies according to lot number, expiration date, and quality control requirements. Keeps storage areas organized. + Prepares reagents and other supplies according to guidelines, ensuring an adequate stock is available. + Cleans and maintains equipment (including, but not limited to, refrigerators, deep freezers, incubators, and sinks) and eyewashes according to guidelines.
